The Greater Vernon Cultural Centre will help transform our community’s continuing growing potential as well as be a catalyst for :
The Greater Vernon region has a vibrant arts and culture scene, and the the Cultural Centre will be a key enhancement to it.
There are more than 8,600 practicing artists in the region, and more than 70 arts and culture organizations. The sector contributes $46 million and more than 4,440 jobs to the community. The new cultural centre will leverage this strength.
The Centre will welcome more than 60,000 visitors per year, bringing direct economic benefit. Additionally, it will enrich visitor stays, expand program and education offerings, add jobs, and compliment other popular tourist attractions like the Okanagan Rail Trail, agritourism attractions, and our beautiful lakes and ski hills.
The Cultural Centre will be a catalyst for downtown revitalization and continued residential development in the city centre; helping local businesses thrive.
