Community cELEBRATES gROUND-bREAKING!
Construction of the Greater Vernon Cultural Centre (GVCC) officially began August 26,2026, marked by a vibrant, community-led celebration that brought together cultural groups, dignitaries, and residents in a show of support and excitement. The festivities kicked off with a spirited march from the Greater Vernon Museum and Archives to the GVCC site, led by the Kalamalka Highlanders Pipe band along with local cultural and artistic organizations. Construction of Greater Vernon Cultural Centre Begins
(excerpted from RDNO Media Release August 21, 2025) The Regional District of North Okanagan (RDNO) is pleased to announce construction of the Greater Vernon Cultural Centre will begin the week of August 25, 2025. The Greater Vernon Cultural Centre will be a dynamic, architecturally striking facility that brings together the Vernon Public Art Gallery, Greater Vernon Museum, flexible presentation spaces, classrooms, and a lively outdoor plaza.
